Instead of a tradtitional academic presentation, I scored my PhD viva as a series of songs on wallpaper inside the miniature world of an illuminated dolls house. My research outcomes are sung in lyric format as well as being revealed as the pieces of dolls house furniture are played across a chess board. The head of research Kevin Voets emailed the next morning to say that is was "one of the stongest PhD presentations I ever witnessed"
I performed the dolls house piece again at the Concertbouw in Bruges.

OH BALLS 2023 // MATRIX CENTRE FOR NEW MUSIC // Composer in Residence //
Written for electronics, scores on clothing, a children’s choir, swimming pool, 600 ball pool balls and a weather forecaster using a clarinet as a meteorological tool, this piece explores the changing and shifting emotions through the metaphor of the weather and cloud formation.
